Hank's Homemade Toffee & Treats
We make it, because we love it!

SLO Solstice Mixer

Today we participated in a fantastic event at SAGE Eco Gardens and Nursery for the SLO Solstice Mixer. What an incredible time. It was Hank’s Homemade’s first time at a mixer/showcase and what a success. One of the things that we enjoy so much is hearing how much people enjoy our toffee, and never have we had so many people enjoying our toffee at one time! Hearing the “oohs” and “ahhhs,” the looks of bliss on so many faces make all the work worth it.

As this was our first “outing” there were a few learning experiences.

  1. Have shade for the toffee. While it was cool outside, the sun quickly melted our display toffee.
  2. Have a second person. It would have been easier to work the booth and meet other vendors had there been more than 1 of us.
  3. Bring more marketing materials. I made a quick one sheet, but people wanted more info. Not sure how to fix that.

I’m already looking to the next opportunity and hope you can join us! Huge thank you to Eddie, Stacy and Margaret for inviting us.

Way to go Hank!!! This is only the first of many events like this that you will be participating in. I was talking with my friend Dave, and he mentioned that you should talk with Raymond Cattaneo or Ray’s Own Brand on Edna Valley Road. They either organize an event, or particpate in an event, that totally focuses on local businesses. Maybe you can get some tips from them as well on how they started creating a product that is may be sold nationally/internationally. I’m happy for you guys, and very excited about what the future holds for Hanks Homemade!!! And hey, if you need some help at the next event, give me a jingle, I’d be willing to help pass the word about the world’s best toffee!!!
